Wipocalypse for July and many, many stitches.

July's Wipocalypse was a bust for me. The only WIP stitching I did was complete the cactus stitching on Part 2 of my Desert Mandala.

But, I did stitch on 3 Round Robins, stitched 3 travelling patterns (shown in previous posts) and an Adoption Sampler.

I do have some things to show you.

This is the third travelling pattern that I stitched.  The pattern came from Marlene.
Tribal Penguin by White Willow Stitching. It is a gift for my friend Judie who is a penguin collector.
I think she likes it.  The pattern is now on it's way to Annette. If you are interested in the pattern, be sure to check with her when it is ready to travel.

Here is my completed Adoption Sampler for the family of friends. The lettering is over 1 on 32 count. I love how delicate it looks.  The pattern was designed for me by Jenna.
I am not sure yet whether to make this into a pillow or frame it.

I purchased this pattern from my friend Jocelyn. Now, I am missing only Autumn Queen.

From my friend Rowyn - she has kindly passed on the Just Nan Humbugs.

I won a summer giveaway on Shannon's blog. Look at the pretty cube she made and the lovely extras that she included. I love the fabric she chose for the cube.
Thank you so much Shannon.

And I must share this beauty. My Band Sampler Round Robin from the TWBB came home today.
I have to share several shots because this sampler is just so gorgeous.

I am going to finish it into a bellpull.

At the moment, I am free to stitch whatever I want. . That doesn't happen very often with me as I have many commitments. One of my RR's is on hold - illness in one family, one is in the mail and one is due to be mailed soon. All my obligation stitching is done. I am going to try a 4 day stitching rotation. I hope to work on Desert Mandala, an etui, LHN's Acorn Hill and a 4th that I have not decided on.
Yesterday, that blasted frog paid a visit to "Acorn Hill" and therefore I stitched parts of the house many times.
I did kick that sucker to the curb and hope he stays there.
Until next time, take care and smile even when the heat is brutal!!!

  10. Dang it -- you've done it again. Now I have to do that penguin for my sister and a TW-esque band sampler ... for me? You always can be counted on for inspiration!... even if it does get me into trouble.

  15. Your band sampler RR is incredible, Kathy--the other stitchers did a lovely job on each part. And how sweet of you to stitch that penguin for Judie. I can tell by her big smile that she will love adding him to her collection.

How nice to have no stitching commitments for a while :) Be sure to stitch something nice just for yourself!!

  16. I've just read your last post and seen all the new stash you brought from your trip. And I'm still speechless ... and wow, so much stitching here makes me look for words. All I can say is: Fantastic!

  17. Wow, "time to do whatever you want stitching" sounds wonderful! Now you have to decide what to do. All of your stitching is wonderful. That penguin is adorable. Have never seen anything like that. Your band sampler is lovely. I love all the colors in it. I noticed that as long as I have been following your blog, I was not an official follower. For some reason, that is the case with a lot of blogs that I follow. But I just remedied that. I am a real follower now :o) Love your blog.

  18. Hey there Kathy,

Your penguin is adorable!! I love looking at
these type of designs and seeing all the diff-
erent images incorporated into the overall
picture. And you've finished it off into a
wonderful pillow with some really cool
fabric. No wonder Judie has such a big
smile on her face. Lucky lady.

How cool is that adoption sampler. It's
perfect for celebrating such a special
    occasion. Love the colour.

    You've received some great stash
    enhancements lately haven't you??
Because, you know, you really don't
have all that much stash to pick and
    choose from. Ahem!!

I adore that Summer cube that you
won from Shannon! It makes me
    crave watermelon for some reason.
She was very generous with her
    extras as well. Cool!

OMG!! That band sampler is stunning!!
I keep looking at the bigger pictures
to try and see all the detail in it but
there's so much ... and the colours are
glorious! What a treasure to have.
    And what amazingly talented stitchers
    all those ladies are.

Have fun stitching whatever your heart
desires ... at least until the next obligation
piece arrives on your doorstep. And hope
those pesky frogs leave you alone for
    awhile.

Isn't it a relief that the heat wave is finally
    over???

    Have a great week!!

    Cheers!

  20. As always, another post fully of stitchy eye candy!

Hope you enjoy stitching the Just Nan humbugs - I certainly did with their vibrant thread colours. (Although the winter one was a bit boring after the other three).

Hope you're having a lovely week.

  24. The penguin looks great, as does all your stitching - gorgeous stuff!! The adoption sampler is a great idea - I think it would look lovely as a pillow. Can't wait to see what you decide to do - frame or pillow.

  25. You may not have worked on lots of WIPS, but you sure did do a lot of beautiful stitching, Kathy. I love that Band sampler and think it will make a wonderful bell pull. It'll be fun to see your "recreational" stitching!

  26. The band sampler DOES look amazing doesn't it? LOL.

I love the penguin and the cube too.

I'm sticking to 2 RRs at a time to allow some "me" stitching time as well.
