TUSAL, I Spy and other stitches

First of all, thank you so much to everyone for your wonderful compliments on the lighthouses. I really appreciated each and all. I smiled all week.

Today is TUSAL and here is my martini glass with a few less but just as inebriated threads.

Most are from the Lighthouse RR, several are from Snowflake Serenade ( also known as The Rip and reStitch piece) some from the latest Mirabilia RR and some from my "UFO to finish" project - Fairies at the bottom of the Garden.
Here is my larger ort container.

This is 3 months worth of stitches. I will add what few I accumulate in the next two weeks and then will start a new container. We are heading back to Canada on April 17th and so for the next 6 months I will accumulate my threads there. Let's hope that along with the threads I leave the blasted frogs behind.
My pathetic attempt at Snowflake Serenade is below.

I stitched the entire bottom section - lovely branches and needles only to be out 1/2 stitch. So most of my time was spent ripping and restitching. I don't know what it is with this piece. I think it may be the fabric. I just cannot seem to count down without missing either 1/2 or a full stitch. Hopefully, next week will be better.
Now that the lighthouses are complete I have picked up my next focus piece.

This is poor, neglected "Fairies at the Bottom of the Garden". I will work on this one until it is finished.

After:

Umm, I did not stitch that much in the past week. There must be another before photo somewhere. I did finish the top left leaf, add the fairy and butterfly, yellow flowers and join the two sides together.
My plan is to work on Snowflake on Mondays, the latest Mirabilia RR on Tuesday and Wednesday and then Fairies the rest of the week until it is done.

And when I got tired of stitching, I quilted. Here is the quilt top for one of my grandsons.

This is called "I Spy with a Twist". It was great fun to put together. Now to make a second one for my other grandson.

Until next time, keep those stitches crossed and orts drunk in a martini glass ROFL.

  8. Wonderful progress on your stitching. I do feel your pain on the RAS (new sound that frog makes!). Been there and done that too many times, and always on the same piece. Wonder why that is! Orts are cool - have a safe trip!

I hope you have a safe trip back to Canada. Hopefully, I'll finish that Eastern Seaboard Sampler and be able to get it to you before you leave for Arizona next year lol! I can be such a slow stitcher! ;)

  15. Hiya Kathy!!

    I've just seen your finished
    Lighthouse RR all washed, pressed
and ready for framing and it is
stunning!! What a lot of work has
gone into this piece. Every one
of those lighthouses is as detailed
in appearance as a photograph. And
your choice of border is a perfect
finish to the whole RR. Although
I don't know how you managed to
    stitch all those sailboats and
    stay sane.

Sorry to hear that the frogs
    continue to plague your attempts
    to stitch Snowflake Serenade.
    How frustrating. For what it's
worth the parts that you have
stitched so far look very nice.
    :)

I'm delighted to see that you
    have been stitching on Fairies
In the Garden some more because
I really like this one. It's
just so pretty with the flowers
    and the sweet little fairies.

The quilt you're working on for
one of your grandsons is pretty
    amazing with those ring shapes
    all interconnected and the
    different fabrics they frame.

Saw Dani and Claire and Fran
and a few other ladies from
    around your area at the
    Needleworker's Market put on
    by Gitta's last Saturday. We
had lots of fun buying stash
    and chatting with other
    stitchers. It was sunny and
would have been warmer if only
    the wind hadn't been so
    annoyingly strong. It snowed
    again this weekend too. It's
all melted away again but the
    darn stuff just won't stay
    away!!

    This is Spring????

    Cheers!

  19. I feel like an underachiever when I see the amount of orts in your glass! Wow, your needles must be smoking.
Sorry the frogs have been dropping by lately. They seem to have a thing for white stitches. It never fails that they drop in when I'm using white floss.
    Fairies looks fantastic!
