The snowbird has landed more or less safely

Well, hello everyone. Please forgive me for being so slow to update myself. It was a long 2 1/2 day -1700 mile trip from home to my sister's in Texas. I did get in some quality stitching time and my butt is square from sitting so long. I am one of those lucky people who can stitch in the car. When you have made this trip several times a tree is a tree is a tree.
I am coming along nicely with page 3 of Book of Stitches although it did not get too much work.

I got to start Paradigm on October 31st for the entire day. I really enjoyed this stitch and did not want to put it down at the end of the day. I can hardly wait for next Wednesday to stitch some more.
Crystal Tree is coming along really nicely. I have found that an extra-large pattern, a highliter and solitude are the answer to working on this piece. I have done very little counterstitching and that pleases me greatly. For some reason, Crystal Tree does not photograph well. Will have to play with the camera and see if I can get a better shot. I have also stitched a piece for the Ornament Exchange on the Needle and Thread Board and cannot show it until it has been received - late November.
Jim is making progress and is now at home. His being at home keeps my sister very busy so DH and I have done our best to pick up the slack for her. She calls me her "laundry fairy". We are trying to accomplish some odds and sods for her - you know - those things you never have time for. Our days are full. We are enjoying spending time with her and her family.

Being a laundry fairy is high praise indeed! My DH has taken over the laundry chores here at home, as bending over just doesn't "work" for me at this stage (LOL!) and it is just such a blessing!

I love your stitching progress! :D

That's great news that Jim is home. I can well imagine all that your sister has on her. I shall continue to pray for her fortitude and strength. I love all you WIPs. The PL is looking great ;)

Glad to hear you arrived safe and sound. Love Crystal Tree. It certainly is going to be beautiful. I am sure your sister is happy to have you there. Can I save my laundry for the "laundry fairy"? Of course, that would entail buying new clothes as you are gone for such a long time. lol

Glad to hear you have arrived in Texas safely.

I have ordered your Peacock WDW thread so it should arrive in the next week or two. I'll be in touch when it does. Being your sister's laundry fairy.... sort of reminds me of whoever in this house keeps the magic underwear drawer full...wonder who that is??...hint...it is not Dan or one of the dogs!

What a long trip! No wonder your butt is square!! You're lucky you can stitch in the car. I find I'm not able to.
I just love the Crystal tree! This is one I love to see unfold.
It's good you are able to help out your sister. Glad to hear your BIL is coming along.

I'm so glad to hear you arrived safely! I can stitch in a car too, we're the lucky ones I guess. Your stitching looks wonderful. And how great that you are such a help to your sister, I'm sure she is so happy to have you there.

Dear Kathy,
You are such a devoted and kindhearted sister. Doing laundry (which is only one of the many things I'm sure you're doing) is such a big deal! When my husband was dying years ago, my friend came in quietly and did all of my laundry, folded it, and put it away. I could have kissed her feet! It was so good to feel that someone cared and that this needful thing was taken care of for me. Never underestimate the power of all you're doing! Plus, your stitching is gorgeous,
so....we love you!!
Hugs,
Deb

I'm glad your BIL is continuing to do well, Kathy!
Love your starts.
And you can stitch in the car? I really admire that. I can't even see straight once I get in a car!
