Aches and Pains

Oh it really sucks to be getting older. I moved the wrong way or sat the wrong way a week ago and have been unable to stitch much. I hurt the muscles in my neck and upper shoulders and have been struggling. I am going to a chiropractor and applying ice to my back and shoulders. Things are improving but slowly.
Here is my sad progress on my UFO RR - a big red blob.

My BFF Beatrice took a quilting class and learned to make a "Spicy Spiral Table Topper". She showed me how to make it and here's what I came up with. It will be a gift for a friend. The sewing was difficult with my sore shoulders so I did 15 minutes at a time.

And I thought I would show you my latest scissors - Canada  by Dinky Dyes!

Since I have so little stitching to show you perhaps you would like to see the few pair of scissors I own. It started with a pretty pair of Ginghers and just grew from there. Many of them have been gifts.

When I looked at this photo, I felt so guilty I polished my silver frog.

Hopefully, next time, I will have some stitching photos. I wouldn't want my poor frog to be empty this month.
He would be awfully hungry.

Feel better soon...stretch as much as you can. I did something similar 5 years ago, ended up in Physical Therapy for over 6 months... :(

Your frogs look very spiffy. I just received my Canada scissors too.
Hope to see you at Rebecca's after the holiday.

Kathy,
It sounds like what happened to me last week. Not as bad but I was considering going to the Chiropractor. It worked itself out.

What an adorable table topper. Congrats on your finish.

I love your scissor collection!

I hope your neck and shoulder heal quickly so you can get back to stitching more.

Hugs,
Carolyn

The table runner is fantastic! I also enjoyed seeing your scissors collection. I'm starting to have quite a few pair myself and have asked for a frog for Christmas... hope one of my girls comes through! Take care of your neck and shoulder, I know how aggravating it is to have a sore shoulder. Seems like it slows down everything!

Ugh - hope you're feeling better soon. I had some pain between my shoulder blades for a while and it made stitching really painful. Luckily it went away fairly quickly, but still. I'd suggest talking to your doctor about a physical therapist visit. My husband had some pretty severe back pain and was in therapy for a few weeks. What a DIFFERENCE it made for him, and he's able to do most of the exercises at home. Definitely something worth thinking about.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Hope it recovers soon. The scissors look good, a girl can't have too many - and anyway, we need one per project don't we?

Best wishes

Your stitching looks lovely and I love your table runner. It's gorgeous.

Nice new scissors! I would like a pair of the Union Jack ones but my daughter says I have enough and shouldn't buy any more!

Gorgeous table runner, Kathy--I've never see anything like that! Well worth the extra effort spent with your sore shoulders. I hope you find some relief soon... Getting older is a pain--literally--isn't it?! But, as my husband says, it's better than the alternative :)

Love your Canada scissors and your red "blob," too!!

What a gorgeous table topper! You did a wonderful job, even with your poor sore shoulders. A stitcher always perseveres, even through "pain", to achieve something of beauty!
Love your new Dinky Dyes' scissors, and what fun, seeing the beautiful display of your scissors stash too!

Oh, I hear you...I recently strained a muscle in my lower back and spend about six weeks getting it healed, well time AND steroids and muscle relaxants and a cortizone shot. Feel better soon, hun!

I love your frogs and your new scissors are really sweet!

That's a really interesting table runner! Was it as hard as it looks? Those little scissors are fun, aren't they? Handy, too. Hope your neck/shoulder feel better soon. Maybe some AZ sunshine is just what you need! So how many nutcrackers do you have? Don't think I've ever seen that many all at once! Fun!
