Wipocalypse Post - April

I have been MIA for a while. I am struggling with keeping up my blog.
I have so many wonderful bloggers out there that I love to read and see what they are up to. But, I just can't keep up with commenting on them all. I feel that if I am not commenting, I shouldn't be posting and expecting bloggers to read and comment on mine. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing and how do I resolve it?

I do have a couple of commitments for the year - the Wipocalypse and TUSAL.

Today is my Wipocalypse post.

I have been stitching and quilting.

First up, this is the table runner I made for a dear friend of mine who just moved into a new home this winter.
This pattern is done on an onpoint grid and was quite the challenge.

Then, I am working away on my next Band Sampler RR. I really struggled with this one. I added a title and ivy down one side of the RR and then tore it all out. It was just too busy and I did not like the color or title for my RR. I think I will leave that part until I get the RR back.
I have stitched Sweetheart Trees - Blueberry Heart. I have 9 more of these hearts in charts and thought they would make a lovely round robin.

I don't have any of the charms that go in the center of each heart but hope to find some at the end.

I have also made very small progress on Point Loma Lighthouse. I am working on the building itself and think I've done a total of 10 rows.  Well, after looking at the photo - maybe 5 rows LOL

This is my latest stitch for the Facebook 2012 Round Robin.
I am stitching one of the three kings. Here is my progress . When I am finished I will post with the entire round robin to date.

I have framed and gifted Part 1 of Jardin Prive's Sampler aux Bouquets to a friend.

This sweet lady kindly crocheted all 367 - 3" squares for an afghan that I have carried around for at least 12 years figuring I would do one day. I thought she deserved something a little special.

I am starting to pack up for our annual trek home to Canada. We will leave here around the 17th and expect to be home around the 24th.

Until next time, please pray that the frogs do not hop into my car for a ride back to Canada.
Take care all.

Beautiful pieces Kathy and I read through the blogs I follow and not always comment. I don't think this is a bad thing because if I were to I'd never get any stitching done. What I find I'm doing now is I'm commenting every couple of posts. HTH

All of your projects look terrific. Hope you get lots of time to stitch on your long drive back to Canada. I read lots of different blogs (including yours) and don't always comment. It doesn't bother me that people don't comment on my blogs. I know people are reading them and I figure if they have time or wish to comment they will and if they don't, no big deal. I also don't track followers on my blogs. I did at the start, but then it seemed like a lot of people were in a competition which was not my motivator so I stopped. I hope you continue your blog regardless of how many comments you leave or receive. I enjoy reading it and seeing your projects! Happy Easter...

Your wips are lovely, I really love the victoria's sampler heart!

Regarding the blogging/commenting: Nonsense! You should blog and/or comment as little or as often as you feel led to. Most of us in the blogging/stitching community know you and adore reading your blog; you are not at risk of losing any of your audience. You know I rarely comment on anyone's blogs these days but I still read them and I still blog. I hope to continue reading your blog for years to come. Hugs.

I still love reading other blogs even though I took down my own recently (I didn't feel the relief I thought I would feel, but I'm still glad I did it). You can always come back... renewed, refreshed or just the same, whatever feels right for you! In the meantime, I adore your finished Jardin Prive sampler! As for the frogs... throw them a big bash, just as you are about to leave, then shut the door and run!

Kathy I think you've been a little very busy lately with your special visitors. I'm sure there's a lot of visiting to do as you snow birds wrap things up and say goodbye for another season. I can't wait to see you!!!!!

Oh, don't give up your blog, Kathy, just because you haven't had time to comment on others! We all get busy and go through periods where we just can't comment... I would miss seeing your creations!!

Especially love the framed Part I--just beautiful! Your friend will be so pleased with your thoughtful gift.

Happy Easter to you and here's hoping your long trip back to Canada is amphibian free :)

I know exactly where you're coming from, my friend. We've been so busy this past month that I've barely had time to breathe let alone post or read blogs. I'm starting to only comment on every third post or so rather than each one. Otherwise I spend too much of my time in front of the computer! I'm also starting to limit the number of blogs I'm following. There are just too many out there for me to keep up with.

Your stitching all looks lovely (especially the JP) and I'm looking forward to seeing you once more when you return.

Great projects goiong on...
I understand you, but blog and comment as much as you want, not for obligation... This is supposed to be a fun thing!

Happy Easter!

I've already said how much I love these hearts and am looking forward to stitching one.
When I get alot of blogs in my reader I'll look at one blogger and add one comment to my favourite post out of the last 4 or 5 she's done.
I also try to comment more often on the people who comment on my blog.
I comment when people ask a direct question (like you) because I like to foist my opinions on other people LOL.
If a post already has 20 comments on it I'm less likely to comment than if there's only one ore two.
I've found the Forums have taken a backseat to blogging this year and I'm right off FB, it keeps freezing and I can't be doing with the hassle!

Lovely table runner you've made. I think your Hearts RR idea is great. It's gonna turn out wonderful. Beautiful stitching on your WiPs. Your framed Sampler aux Bouquets is so pretty. I'm sure your friend loves it.

Hugs,
Veronica.

You've done some lovely stitching. Please don't give up blogging. I so enjoy reading it. And if you don't comment on all of them, whell, there's always the next time. People will understand. I don't always comment on the ones I read. Sometimes there just isn't time. So I say read what you want, comment on thr ones you want and make life easier on yourself. Have a wonderful trip home.

I really understand what you are feeling. For one reason or the other I will have to miss several days of reading blogs and my reader will have 70 - 80 blog posts that I am behind. It totally overwhelms me. So I look at all of them and not comment unless I absolutely feel passionate about whatever is on the blog. Then, of course, as you can see, I can't limit myself to one or two words. Thanks for asking the question because the answering comments have made me feel better, I hope they have you as well.

Love the runner!
Don't worry about blogging/commenting - after reading the comments I think we are all in the same boat! I read blogs on my iPhone while traveling to & from work (read them with Byline) & I still cant keep up! I don't always comment but I do always visit and read and drool!

Beautiful stitching! I love the table runner, too. Great choice in your Jardin Prive frame. It is so pretty!

I've been struggling with a loss of mojo, too much going on, and haven't been reading blogs or commenting. I don't blog for comments or keep track of who comments on my blog or who doesn't. My thought is--do what you can do, enjoy life, enjoy blogging. The only thing that I really do try to do is, when I DO comment (and I'm usually behind on that, as you can tell!), I do go to the blogs owned by people that I know do comment on my blog. I might not know how often they do or whatever, but if I have seen them on my blog here or there, I go to their blogs before I go to somebody who doesn't comment at all.

Safe travels back to Canada!

Well, that's an unusual prayer, giggle, but I'll pray for it anyway.

Have a safe trip home!

I know what you mean about blogging and commenting. I love visiting the blogs in my reader but I can't comment on each adn every blog post. I'd love to but then I'd spend all my time on the computer. So, I comment on every second, third or fourth post of the respective blog depending on how often the blog owner posts.

Kathy, blogging is something you do because you like to do it. Keeping up a blog is a big job and you can do as much or as little as you want. You can comment or not comment. We all get busy with life and different things are at the top of our priority list at different times. I do know the guilty feeling of not posting or commenting on a blog. But I think we put those guilt feelings on ourselves. So, blog when you want, comment when you want and spend the most time on what matters to you at the time. I will always visit your blog :o) hugs.
