Since I cannot share my stitching for the week I thought I would share something else.
Darn, I just realized these photos are sideways. Okay, everyone turn your head on an angle and look!
This antique pincushion was given to me by some friends who found it in with their family stuff as they cleaned out a home. It had been stitched by a family member as a memento of a soldier sweetheart who went off to WW1. It is a little frail and unstitched in a couple of places but still very lovely. The inside is stuffed with used threads - a new use for orts perhaps? I thought it was so nice of them to give it to me. It is in my basket of smalls - actually the only thing in the basket as I don't have any smalls yet LOL
Our little grandson Jackson was our guest for the week. We visited his parents last week and brought him home with us to spend some quality time with him. We had a great week. Lots of laughter and fun. There is something about grandchildren that is sooo special.
Here he is golfing in our front yard.My two favorite golfers - DH and Jackson.
In the pool with DH and our granddaughter, Drew, who came to visit for the day and joined the two of them.
Our little angel is asleep in Gramma's stitching chair - just had tooo much fun! We returned him to his parents yesterday with great reluctance.
Well, I'm off to stitch some more. Will try to stitch on something that can be shown.
Take care one and all

What a wonderful visit from the grandkids!
I love that pincushion! What a sweet gesture!
What a lovely antique pincushion, and a great story to go with it.
Looks like a lot of fun was had with the grandkids. Grandparents are really special too :-)
That last picture of your grandson is sooo precious! What a sweetie!
The pincushion is a really neat piece. I never would have thought of using orts to stuff it. They never threw anything out then though did they?
Awwww you tuckered him out. So cute.
The pincushion is a cute piece. I have used orts in a couple of pincushions myself.
Great idea for a pincushion... ORT. I might have to go dig mine out of the garbage, I just picked up and threw away this morning, lol. That's so cool with the history behind it.
Lovely photo's of fun in the sun. I feel like doing that in the last pic, hehe.
Hi, Kath! You've given me such hopes for visits from my grandsons one day! :) They are so precious. Thanks for your sweet and encouraging words about Kellan. I love the darling little keepsake your friends gave you. The edelweiss flowers are especially meaningful and lovely in the heart shape.
Hugs, Deb
Hello Kathy,
That little boy in your stitching chair is sooooooooooo cute!
And I must admit I'm curious and excited about something :)
Have a nice day! Hugs, Carolien
I love the wonderful pincushion! What a great keepsake that is!! And it looks like you enjoyed a great visit with Jackson. My parents used to take my girls when they were small for a few days here and there, and it was a great break for me, and a great time for them as well. The girls have wonderful memories of those times.
Cute pincushion! How fun is that?
And your Jackson is a doll! I love the photos :)
You tuckered him out! lol Love that pic in the chair. :)
I also love the pin cushion. It's beautiful and it comes with a lovely story. Now, you just need some smalls to keep it company.
I have just found your blog. Oh I love it when my little darling comes to stay for the weekend. He will be staying from Thursday to Saturday this week as school is closed for the day on Friday.
The little pin cushion is delightful.
What a gorgeous pincushion! Great pics of the kids too. xx
Oooooh - just love those grandbaby photos!
