A little stitching, a little gardening and a little weight loss

I managed to get some stitching done this week. First up - Lady Periphaeria Mystery Sampler. Here is part 2. I love the colors in this. For some reason, both my photos of this sampler are sideways. I am having some trouble rotating photos. Back to the book for the camera and a review of rotating photos LOL.Next up, My JBW mitten over 1 on 25 count in DMC 321. I love this red. This is one of my first attempts at over one and I am satisfied with it so far. Look forward to doing more like this.Yesterday, I picked up Paradigm and got some of the work done on the bottom right. Page 9 is full of small motifs and I am enjoying this. The sea horse is just delightful.
I have been watching the mini series - The Tudors - this week and stitching away. What a wonderful series. The scenery and costumes are outstanding. I am a huge history buff and am loving every minute of it. I am on episode 8 of 10.Today, DH and I did some work on our gardens. This garden is original to the neighborhood and has become sadly overgrown. We have decided to tear it up and start again. After 4 hours we have come up with this. I think it looks much better. We are planning to tear up all the garden and have it look fresh and new. The second photo is of the rest of the garden in it's sadly overgrown state.
Another pound gone - 31 lbs. now - YIPEE!!!
I have had a great deal of trouble this week with my internet connection. We had a storm last week that took out the phone lines and since then my connection is not good. I have been reading everyone's posts as they come into google reader but I cannot get the blogs to open and trying to post a comment does not work at all. I am doing the best I can. I may try a new provider and see if things improve. Since we live way out in the country dialup is our only option at the moment. Oh, I miss my wireless in Arizona!!!! Please know, I am reading your blogs and admiring all the wonderful work you do. When I get this straightened out I will pop up again. In the meantime, Happy Stitching everyone.

What passionate colors in periphaeria, I adore it. Your PL is coming along so nicely. Your garden area looks lovely, perhaps a nice place to stitch.

Thank you so much for your kind comment on my family situation. I am enjoying catching up on all your work. The mystery sampler looks really pretty. I love anything JBW does - one day I will try over one with something of hers. And PL is really coming along. Congratulations and the tremendous accomplishment of losing so much weight! You're inspiring me with your garden makeover - we have a lot of rocks too and usually just ignore them, but maybe this summer...

Hi Kathy,

I want to say Congratulations to
you for loosing 31 pounds this
year. Way to go!! You should
feel very proud of yourself
because that's a major achievement.
I am very happy for you.

It was fun seeing the pictures of
your grandson enjoying his stay at
your home. He looks like he was
loving every minute of it. The
picture of him asleep in your
stitching chair was priceless.

Paradigm is looking great and it
must feel good to be half way done
on it.

How frustrating to have your
dial up service go wonky and not
be able to do all the things that
you want to do on your computer.

We had some problems with our
service here two weeks after we
got the new computer and had to
call Ma Bell to come and check
the line. They made some adjust-
ments, digging up the neighbour's
front yard in the process and
now every things fine.

Have you been enjoying the
wonderful weather that we've
been getting these past few
days?? Hope things simmer down
for the weekend.

Cheers!

Another 3 lbs is awesome!! It must feel great.
Hope you can sort out your computer problems soon.
I like the colours in the mystery sampler too. They're so vibrant!
Your mitten is cute. I think I have that chart here somewhere. Seeing yours makes me want to drag it out.

Wow, you're really motoring with your stitching! PL is looking fantastic, definitely worth a happy dance at having reached (and now passed!) midway - I'm still lagging behind because of stitching deadlines and haven't managed to even get to half way. I think my plan of a 2008 finish is pretty much out the window!

I'm glad to see your Periphaeria Designs mystery sampler - I have been downloading the charts, but haven't started it yet, so this is inspiration indeed - are you following the charted colours?

I can't tell you how pleased I am for you about your weight loss - you sound like you've had an amazing success so far, with more to come - well done you, I know how hard it can be! :)
