I WON!!!!

Remember her!  Well, look at her now all decked out in her new ribbons.

I entered "Royal Holiday" in the Yuma County Fair and won!

The top ribbon, the Grand Champion Rosette and the Cash Award!!

It has been a busy week for me. I finished the second "I Spy" quilt top. You can see a picture in the previous post. They are basically the same.

Last Monday was my SAL day with Cheryl. Here's what I accomplished - before I start again today. The frogs stayed away and so I was finally able to enjoy stitching on this one.

I am also working on Andie's Mirabilia RR. Can you guess who I am stitching? There is no prize for guessing right.

And in the mailbox this week, this wonderful gift from Annette - project bags from The Attic in Mesa. It took me two seconds to fill the larger bag.

I don't know if I will be able to update my blog next week. I am presently packing up my house in Arizona and heading back to Canada on Sunday. I will have my stitching in the car.

My husband laughs at me. I treat the front seat of the car like my living room. I have my books, my snacks, my needlework and my Kindle all around me. The miles fly by as I work away on whatever catches my fancy.
It takes us four 10 hour days to get home.

Until the next time, keep those needles flying and don't forget to smile every once in a while. It's good for the soul.

Congratulations on your win! I can't imagine driving so long either. The furthest I've gone was to Spain by coach and that only took a day and a half. We did drive through the night though.

Hi Kathy,

Congratulations on winning those
awesome ribbons and awards!!!
Grand Champion no less. Phew!!
Not that it's a surprise given
the incredible way that you
stitch and create gorgeous
masterpieces such as Royal
Holiday. I'd have been more
shocked if you hadn't been
given an award for her.

Nice progress on White Christmas
Kathy. I'm glad that the frogs
are finally leaving you alone so
you can make progress on this
pretty project.

I can't get enough of those
Mirabilia RR's that you're
stitching on. Every single
one of them is breathtaking
to look at. I'm not familiar
enough with these designs to
be able to hazard a guess as
to the identity of your lovely
lady, but she's looking good
so far.

A nice and generous gift from
Annette, those project bags.
And so handy for people on
the go ... such as yourself.

Hope you and DH have a safe
and enjoyable trip home.
Sounds like you'll be well
stocked with stuff to keep
boredom at bay for the
duration.

Note: temperatures in the
low 20's this weekend and
sunshine. We'll try and
keep some of it around for
when you arrive home, but
no promises.

Cheers!

Congratulations!! That is fantastic. You really deserved it, but it is nice to know that others think your work is so great. Too bad you can't be there to enter it into the State Fair. Your WIP's are looking great too.

How awesome to have won those ribbons!! You must be soooo pleased and proud. :)

Do be safe on your journey back to Canada. Your front seat sounds like my DH's when we travel. I've taken over the driving because he likes to play with his gadgets while we go down the road - even if he's driving!
