Sampler Gameboard and Nutcrackers and Christmas

Here is my Sampler Gameboard. I am sure you haven't seen it for a while. I am about 2/3 done. I stitch 4 days at a time on each piece. I figure 3 more rounds will give me a happy dance.

I also joined a stitch called Torah Stitch by Stitch. Each stitcher signs up and is sent a section of the Torah to stitch. This is my contribution. Genesis 16 Verse 15-17. It has been sent back to the group to be added to their work. They are now at 420 stitchers from 12 countries. If you are interested you can find more information here.

And, because we winter in Arizona we had an early Christmas with my parents, our children and grandchildren. The tree was up and the house was decorated for Christmas. All of my nutcrackers made an appearance. I am only putting a photo of a very few. I think last count was 200 or so. I had such fun. The grandkids were a little confused but very happy with their early Christmas gifts.

Of the gifts I received this was, by far, the best gift ever.
A Jim Shore Nutcracker. Isn't he a handsome fella! and he is all mine!

I have tried to do a fair amount of stitching in the last 6 months. This is my ort jar after that time frame. Either I stitched a lot or I made lots of errors. You chose lol.

Cathey and her Pumpkin Patch

It is with great sadness that I am writing this.

I received word last night that our wonderful, courageous fellow stitcher has lost her battle with cancer.

Cathey has passed away.

For more information you can go here www.kscott77@blogspot.com

My heart goes out to her husband, young son, entire family and her wide circle of friends both live and internet.

Heaven has gained an exceptional angel and the stitching community has lost a true treasure.

Desert Mandala Update and a little baking.

I have been working on my Desert Mandala.  After 8 days I have stitched the bottom landscape and the Jessica stitches in the bottom right cactus. I am not happy with some of my Jessica stitches so may pull them out later and redo.

I have also started my Christmas baking. We are having Christmas at Thanksgiving as we will stay in Arizona for the winter. I will fully decorate the house and provide a Christmas meal and gifts for all. It is such fun.
All of my nutcrackers will be out on display!

I made 8 tourtiere pies and 24 tourtiere tartlets in two days. Boy, does my house smell yummy!

I would like to thank those of you who have come back to my blog and/or left wonderful comments after my long hiatus. I am visiting your blogs and reading your posts but I cannot comment from my Samsung tablet. I love all the work done and how your lives are progressing. Thank you for sharing!

I am currently stitching on a verse from the Torah for Torah Stitch by Stitch but it has been a frog-infested progress. Hopefully, they will depart soon and I will have something to show other than a mess of ripped out threads.
